My Classroom :)

It's about time I posted on here. It's been way too long! Just wanted to show you some pictures from my classroom. For the first time in my teaching career I didn't have to move schools and could keep things up in my room. Enjoy!

Here is my classroom for the 2010-2011 school year. I hope you like it ;) I guess it's very functional for me and much cleaner now. It was nice to have some time to organize a bit. The smart board in the corner is the big white board that is interactive with the computer. You can touch the screen and write on it with a marker and erase with an eraser. It has a projector that projects everything onto the screen.

Here is the door going outside my classroom. I also have two very large practice rooms. Great idea but I really have no use for them in my room since we do not have individuals practicing by themselves in the practice rooms.

There are some guitars on the back wall but they need strings. Hoping to get the strings bought by money from some generous parents.

I have a white board in the back of the room and tiered seating. It works very well.

I was excited to meet the students the night of meet the teacher night.

I had about five show up. Here is my desk area with my computer in the back of the room. THis area is off limits to students.

It's working out really well. I sometimes use my i-pod and play songs for the kids. I have also recently brought out the piano and set it outside of my desk area to accompany classes with the music that we are learning.

Well I tried to change the order of the pictures, but I thought I'd save the best for first. Here are some pictures from Page, Arizona of the sandstone rocks that we went into. They almost look unreal. They are very beautiful and I probably took 100 pictures or more of them. Enjoy!

Here are some pictures from the town of Flagstaff. It is very pretty.

Went to Flagstaff and I thought it would be brilliant to pitch a tent in the living room the night before. Brilliant idea seeing that I forgot the poles. Oh well...luckily this campground had a tree to attach to :)

The Talent Show!

So we went with the theme of American Idol this year at the talent show. These are the judges below. The one on the left is the special ed teacher and she was Paula Abdul. She put in hair extensions just for it! The middle one is a 3rd grade teacher and she was Simon Cowell and the one on the right is my friend who invited me to Easter with her family. She's a second grade teacher and she was Randy Jackson!

It started out with a sister duet. One in 8th grade and the sister in kinder singing "Part of Your World" from "The Little Mermaid."

Next was a group of 5 boys who were going to dance to a Christian rap song. They did it, but before getting on stage stopped to pray. Definitely was amazed to see the Lord work in these 5th grade boys. What a testimony of their love for the Lord.

They even introduced themselves and right before starting said, "It's Showtime!"

This was my 2nd grade student who did "Smooth Criminal" by Michael Jackson. He got the hat the day before when his mom went to buy it on her lunch break.

He had quite the moves.

Trumpet player. I wanted to help him hold up his trumpet, but he sounded great!

The crowd was massive! I printed over 300 programs and all of them were gone when I went to check them.

One of these two students is in my choir and could barely sing before she started choir in the fall. So proud of her!

The concert was a huge success. I'd have to say there were at least 300 if not more people outdoors watching the program. Thanks for praying! :) So proud of the kids! Even with the sound system turning off during the last song, the kids kept singing without fail. :)

Kindergarten Program Tonight!

Hi All,

Sorry I'm so terrible about updating you but just wanted to let you know that my kindergarten program is happening tonight at 6 P.M. So if you are thinking about it at 8 P.M. Minnesota time, 6 P.m. California time, or anytime, please pray that the sound system does well and that the wind dies down for the 20 minute program. It's like a tornado out there right now. Thanks so much!

Easter Sunday!

The beautiful place settings at the table.  I was adopted by another teacher from my school.  She invited me to lunch at her sister's house.  It was very nice and you can tell that her sister really likes to decorate.

Pam's sister Nancy on the left and friend Jody on right pointing out all of the different plants in the garden.  I think there was spaghetti squash, tomato plants, and spinach.  It reminded me of being at Aunt Janet's house a bit.  Unfortunately I forgot to take a picture with Pam, but oh well.  It was a very nice easter.
